Just Fckn Get on With It

Overcoming Adversity and Living Life on Your Own Terms

I’m currently writing a book called Just Fckn Get on With It. It’s based on my own lived experiences of being misdiagnosed for 20 years, surviving a terrorist attack, being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and becoming a wheelchair user, and the unimaginable grief following the death of my daughter, Imogen.

Nicky is a business owner, author and speaker, and an advocate for disability and resilience in overcoming trauma. She writes and speaks from lived experience, refusing to let what's happened stop her living an amazing and fun life.

THE BOOK

Not a victim story. Not toxic positivity. Just Fckn Get On With It is about how it’s possible to have an amazing life alongside misdiagnosis, terrorism and PTSD, disability and the death of her daughter Imogen. It's a gritty, honest account of how people can go through awful experiences and still build a joyful and meaningful life, a life lived on their own terms.

WHAT MAKES NICKY A GREAT GUEST?

No script. No bullshit. Nicky talks openly about grief, disability, PTSD and how the bad days sit alongside the good. Three distinct stories in one life. Misdiagnosis, terrorism and bereavement, each with its own set of challenges.

Nicky has also run several businesses while managing chronic ill health, raising four children, home educating and volunteering as a director and founder of a not for profit organisation - Rainbow H.E. Events.

She’s practical and pragmatic, not just inspirational.
